About
Welcome to my website!
I’m a writer of stories, plays, but mainly children’s poetry.
My debut collection 'Where Do Wishes Go?' published with Otter-Barry Books in March 2022. My Second collection 'The Moon's Gorgonzola' is publishing with Troika Books in 2023 and my third collection is publishing in 2024 with Otter-Barry Books! I have had many poems published in anthologies with Otter-Barry Books, Troika, Macmillan, Bloomsbury, and many more fantastic publishers (Check them out in the below buttons!)
My work doesn’t feel like work. I love my job! Visiting schools is joyous, inspiring children to fall in love with poems and helping them to write their own. I work with children of all abilities. Children who love poetry and would love to learn a variety of techniques and poetry styles, children who have never before written a poem, children who lack confidence in their writing or find literacy in general, hard. My nurturing approach means that every child leaves my workshops feeling proud of themselves and with confidence.
Special educational needs: I also work with children with special educational needs. Poetry can be a great tool for encouraging focus. In addition, I also work with children with EAL who have little or no knowledge of English.
I had the honour of being asked to be a member of the Worcester Competitive Arts Festival (WCAF) Committee. I am a member of the Poetry Society Poets in Schools, Authors Abroad, Brian Moses’ Able Writing Scheme, Authors Aloud and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).
